Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in 25 years that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Draws Massive Crowds

Local events included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses

Festivities started prior to the parade, with supporters lighting flares in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.

The World Series MVP, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and Community Spirit

In contrast, the team owner was met with a less warm reception at the rally. Recordings from the event appear to show him taking the stage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with negative shouts interrupting his address.

The championship served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.

“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
