Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Gunned Down in Johannesburg.
A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a nation grappling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was attacked in the city centre on a Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old entertainer was accosted by three individuals, one of whom opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.
The motive of the shooting remains unclear and no one has been arrested are in custody, according to authorities.
Details of the Attack
Law enforcement indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was departing from a building near the Carlton Centre.
He had been present for hours at the property managing the implementation of security systems, which had been reportedly taken over by squatters, as per local media.
"Authorities believe the victim was confronted by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they shot at him before fleeing the scene on foot," a police statement confirmed.
Security camera video showed a suspect with dreadlocks and dressed in what looked like a guard's attire firing shots on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ sought to escape after he was shot but fell down a short distance away.
It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and no items were stolen during the incident.
Crucial forensic evidence, like spent shells, were found at the crime scene.

Police have appealed anyone who saw the event who may have have information to come forward.
"We know they traveled on foot after the shooting, and investigators have been following their trail to establish their destination," stated a police chief.

His sister, Nicole Stock, expressed the relatives are devastated to process his death.
"I am in shock. I cannot express the pain," she stated.
