It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and after that the batsman was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.
